I have a family of 6... and of course everyone have very different opinions on a name for the kitten. so i need some more ideas. My sister and i had named her Bella, but my dad nixed that. Other names considered (and nixed) were cricket, Alice, Trixie (she was found in a trailer park... so my parents like stereotypical names for her), and Glinda. She is an 8 week old Calico, who purrs non stop, can be a little ditzy (let's say figuring out her connected water/food bowl was a challenge), scares the c**p out of my 70 pound dog, and is a night owl who keeps me up all night. please give me any ideas you have! I prefer girl names just because she looks very feminine.

  1. How about Fraidy or Scaredy, as is Fraidy cat or scaredy cat

  2. You are describing my Misty!

  3. I love the way you phrased your question - with lots of details!  Great question.

    I say:

Since she has gotten a second chance with your family, leave her past behind her and give her a name that will signify her new start.

She sounds delightful, brave, very happy, very independent and loves her new home and family.  I would say something that will fit what she will become.

You could do Phoenix, since she has risen out of her situation.  I love the name Bella.  How about Christa, which is short for the Christian sympolism of a phoenix?  Or just simply Callie, since she's a calico?

I think whatever it is is should reflect strength and bravery, not only hers but yours..

    Good luck.

  4. Pickles the cat...

I know my cat is always causing trouble or in a pickle

  5. hmmm  i know how you feel i have 8 cats and a family of 8, very difficult deciding names but we eventually got around to it, and my favorite name of yours is cricket because that's my kitt's name but you guys should all take a piece of paper and write down your favorite name  then put in in a bucket and have someone pick out a name it should work fine

  6. Hee hee. Whatever name is finally chosen I think her nickname should be Killer, short for Dog Killer, "The Kitteh who Strikes Fear into the Hearts of all Dogs!" ;)

Personally, I thought both Bella and Trixie were cute names!

  7. Simba, from the lion king!

  8. Well I have an idea, hopefully you like it! (I also have a family of six, it was very hard to decide what my sister's name was when she was born two years ago!!) Well since she is Calico you could name her Cali! Well hope I helped bye!!!

  9. don't fret about figuring out a name... it took me two weeks to name my last cat.  My family always had little squabbles with naming our other cats as well... just keep throwing out names to each other, and you'd be surprised, there will be one that everyone will agree on eventually :)

  10. if she is a Calico how about Cleo?  Or Patches.

  11. Sparkle

    Cuddles

  12. I love the names Lucy, Zoe and Chloe for a girl kitty.  I love naming kitties people names because they have as much character as a person does. :)

  13. I once had a cat called Trixie - she was a long white haired cat.  I also had a cat called Cleo he was a Tabby - long story why the girl name..anyways what about Molly?
