  1. Hope is only about 100 miles east of Vancouver.  You have a few options once you pass through the Hope area.  There are three routes to chose from that will take you into the interior portions of BC.  The southern route (hwy 5) will take you through Manning Provincial Park, the town of Princeton and ultimately to the south Okanagan Valley area.  Amazing topography, desert (dessert?  never sure) surround beautiful lake Skaha and Lake Okanagan.  Drive north through the valley on hwy 97 taking in the wonderful wine vineyards and fruit orchards.  Second choice is highway 3 or the central route which is the fastest and most direct to take you to the Kamloops area.  It's a toll road that'll cost you $10.  Very little opportunity to get off the highway and explore though.  The northern route is hwy 1 which will take you through the Fraser Canyon, another amazing area.  (The driver won't see too much though as he'll have to keep his eyes on the road.)  I've driven all three routes and for scenery  I like the southern route, for speed I like the middle route and the Northern route is almost as beautiful as the south route.  All kind of join at Kamloops.  There you'lll have another choice to make.  Go north on the Yellowhead highway to Jasper, or east on Hwy 1 toward Banff.  Both are amazing drives.  Have a great holiday.

  2. You definately got to stop in Banff , Alberta. Look Banff up on google images. It;s gorgeous.

  3. Hope is an hour and a half drive from Vancouver and is due east.  Hope they don't get caught speeding.
