My family is going on a 5hr flight to CA. Looking for some good suggestions on inflight activities for kids...

The children are 11,6 and 2. The 2 year old especially needs some distraction. We have a portable DVD player that we will be bringing. Any other suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!

my famil went on a 10hr trip to paris.

we had a three year old...

she had her OWN portable dvd player, and a couple coloring books. food always works too, cuz then he/she will fall asleep for at least 2 hrs.

six year old will probably only need his/her own portable dvd player and a zillion dvds. i have noticed that 6 year olds get bored of one movie very fast

11 year old will definatly want a laptop if they have myspace, or any chat room account. if you dont feel like hooking it up to internet, you can always download a bunch of games to it before the flight. my younger sister was 11 and she had an ipod as well as a laptop w/ lots of games

game boys psp's ds's ipods dvd player so on

coloring books will be good for the 2 yr old and 6 yr old...

and possibly the 11 yr old

dvd player will really help out, just pop in a movie and they can watch it for like 2 hours that will kill alot of time

make sure that they dont use the internet conection (wi fi) stuff on the electronics...it will interfere with the plane's electronics and you could potentially get the plane off to someother place lol

bring lots of snacks. and if you can juice.

try to keep them busy or they will get loud, and people get angry when there is someone loud on the plane!!
