My family likes my ex-boyfriend more than me?

i've just broken up with my boyfriend of 3.5 years. i know i've made the right decision but my family loved him so much. they loved him more than they love me! now i am avoiding everyone in my family and feel very betrayed.

what do i say to them? what do i do?

  1. Sit down & talk to them.  Tell them hey you were my family before he ever came along, tell them how you feel.

I know you probably dont want to hear this BUT....if they did really like him too then this time period(post break-up) will actually be difficult for them too.  They cant help to see it as a loss of someone they care about.  I am sure they love you more....but this is a transtion for them as well.  

    Did you talk to your family about the issues or problems your were having in your relationship prior to breaking up?? I ask this to try and find out if the family "saw it coming" or if this was "out of the blue."

    If you had not talked about it to them previously then do so now.....give them the information and the time to understand you and your feelings.


  3. He was obviously the son that they never had. My parents liked and still like my sister's boyfriend more than me, it was as plain as day.
