Im just wondering bc in Ga you only have to be 17 to move out and in florida its 18. so if i still have a house there am i still a resident?

i also have a georgia license and im pregnant with my boyfriend in georgia. im planning to move in with his family.

i just want to make sure i wont get in trouble with the police if i go without my parent's permission.

  1. You are considered a resident of Florida if you:

enroll your children in public school, or

file for a homestead exemption, or

    accept employment, or

reside in Florida for more than six consecutive months.

So unless one of the above has happened according to FL law it sounds like you are a resident of GA. Don't quote me on that but if you were to return to GA....

  2. You live in Florida and are now residents of Florida. The laws of the state now apply to you. The fact that you own property in another state does not affect your residency in Florida.

If the laws there state you must be 18 to move out, then you'll be breaking this law if you move out at the age of 17.
