My family tree. please help..?

Hi... can anyone advise me on a free web site that i could look up my past family and see what they did for a living and where the lived. thanks

They lived in the countryside and they were labourers. The children grew up and moved into towns in the Industrial Revolution. Leeds, Manchester. The mills and foundries places.

How do I know? Because we all did.

There are no free websites.  The best ones are huge commercial enterprises and usually demand some kind of payment, whether pay-per-view for credits or an annual membership fee.  Genes Reunited is NOT free - at least not if you actually want to contact anyone.  The sites that are free usually require that you have already got back with your tree at least as far as 1901 - the most recently available census year.  Places like familysearch.org or freebmd all have their uses, but there is no one-stop shop site that will tell you your tree for free, gratis and for nothing.

Your only hope of finding your family tree online for free is if an extended member of your family has already done it (or part of it) and placed it online somewhere.  My tree is online in about three different places (genesreunited, tribalpages and rootsweb) so if there are any distant 1st and 2nd cousins who decide to start their tree today they could happen across my tree on the internet quite easily within three clicks of a mouse.  That though is the exception rather than the rule.  Most people won't be that lucky.  At least, not immediately.

And why does it seem no-one on this board have a sense of humour?  Vigilants answer above is not really far off the mark.  That answer sums up my tree quite well.  It sums up most peoples trees as well.  Five "thumbs down" for telling the truth?  Very harsh people.  Very harsh.  I thought it was quite clever and spot on.  Have a thumbs-up.  You deserve at least one for telling it like it is!

sorry there are no free websites and genes reunited is deffinetly not one neither you can go on there for 5 pound and get so many credits but ancestry is the best 10 pound for one month its really good but alot of websites say ...yes im free and then CRUNCH can i have your credit card number so dont waste any time trying to find one like i did

This is the only free one I`ve found so far,

It`s only the 1881 census but you should be able to find some info here. Good luck !
