My family wants to get back to the lake... some advice, please?

Question

For the past like.. 20 years my family has been into boating (live on the boat for a weekend, dock at our marina). My first trip to the lake was when I was 2 weeks old, so it's the only way I know how to have a great summer. We recently sold our boat because of how stupid of an investment it was, although we miss it really, really badly.

Now, we want to get back to the lake but we're not sure what the best plan is. We go to the Lake of the Ozarks, by the way. Since me and my sisters are still young (19, 15, and 13) we want to get a MasterCraft X-54 and build a smallish lake home that we can go to. From an investment standpoint, it seems like a good idea because we'll be buying property low and then eventually selling it for more.

Would this be a good plan? We've always just stayed on our Sea Ray, enjoyed the dock life. Is it a good transition? What's better about it? Is there anything else we could do besides building/buying a lake home and ski boat? (Condo, another sea ray, etc.)

well we are lake people too, but a few years back sold our ranch and we ended up buying another place we coulnt live without it. It brought us all closer cleaning it up and repairing little things. i would rather have our own place so we can go whenever we wanted to not when it was our turn like it would be in a time share.. but i say get back on the lake :)
