We are a family of 3. However my wife will just follow one month after we arrive in Canada. Shall I bring the full amount required for a family of three? or only the amount alloted for me and my daughter, and my wife will just bring the balance amount alloted for her also when she go to Canada after one month.

  1. I think you will want money to live on when you are here. Ideally, you should arrange to set up a bank account with a Canadian bank, then arrange for a wire transfer to simply have the money available. You can then show immigration the bank statement. I would certainly not walk around with thousands of dollars of cash or traveller's checks on you.

Naturally your wife may need money for the month that she has to remain in your home country, so you will want to leave her with some money or access to the funds until she gets to Canada too.

What requirements are for forms and your economic state should have been explained to you by the people who handled your immigration. If not, I would consult with them or the Canada Immigration Centre so you are clear on any questions you may have.

  2. Your local Canadian embassy will be able to tell you.

  3. You should ask the agency that processed your visa.
