Question:

My family will make fun of me?

My sisters are really the problem.

You see, I have a love of writing books, but about older people. Like teenagers because eleven year olds don't have a very dramatic life do they?

I love to write. It's not for jobs when I'm older, it's because I love to.

But if my sisters ever found out, they'd laugh and laugh at me.

I can tell my friends and they won't laugh, but I want my fsmily to know without laughing. What can i do?

  1. Just tell them but before u do say,now promise not to laugh at this or else i will slit your head with a knife or something.

  2. tell them that it is what you love.

and if they love you they shouldnt laugh.

and if they still laugh, laugh at the things they love to do.

  3. look you just need to put your head up high and stop thinking of every ones opinions you should say right look i enjoy writing so im writing books and see what they say. your sisters trust me on this one you are still young so nothings going to make them stop taking the mick out of you i have 6 sister and 3 brothers and all we do is argue dont worrie it naturall good luck and i hope you carry on x

  4. I would suggest getting your parents on side.  How about you combine your love of writing with some of your parents' life experience?  E.g. ask them about their childhood and how things were different to nowadays.  Were there any family scandals or mysteries? Where did they live?  What were their interests?  If you involve your sisters in some way, research or otherwise they might feel more included and not make fun?

You could either document their lives in an autobiographical way (which I'm sure they would love and be flattered by) or use the info as a basis for a story.

Failing that, you could always threaten to write about them in an unflattering light!

Don't be discouraged.  Sisters were put on earth to make fun of each other - I'm sure they will be supportive when they know how much you enjoy it - but don't forget to gather some life experience yourself!

  5. i wish i would of wrote more when i was younger maybe i would be better at it now that im older

let them laugh because when your the next millionare for some awesome book your sisters will be crying because they wont get any money from it

  6. Show them and you read them to them so they understand better and their just S****y family if they dont support you.

  7. Write a story about everything bad they do and snap them with photos, then tell them you love to write novels and if they laugh or tease you show your parents the book.

(That's if they do anything not aloud in your household) :D

  8. Tell your family about that.

tell them u love to write!!

they will be happy about it.

  9. what does it matter if your sisters laugh at you? The point is that you have a love for writing and i can guarantee if you love something, like writing, you will probably be a famous writer.

    So,

    good luck with your sisters...

  10. I love writing also. I think its a great hobby. I don't think there's anything wrong about writing about older people. There are many people who do this. What I suggest you do if your family makes fun of you just because you love to write is to have a seat and talk to them about it. Tell them how much you love writing and believe it to be a great hobby. Tell them there is nothing wrong about you having a liking to writing. If your sisters are younger than you, then I think it's because they are still young. But if your sisters are older than you, use your courage to talk to them about it. Don't let your fears about your sisters making fun of you make decisions for you. Don't let them get in your way of writing. Because there is nothing wrong about writing. I hope I've been at least some help and hope that this works out. All the best.

  11. Why would they laugh because you enjoy writing?  I would think they would be proud of you for writing.  Most people in this work do not have the ability to write.

You are one of those fortunate people that can so don't be ashamed of it.  Bring your talent out in the open and tell your family.  If your sisters do laugh, let them they will probably just be jealous that they can't write.

    Good luck!

  12. Stop caring whether they laugh or not and just keep doing what you love.

  13. They are your family, and I know how it can be I have 4 brothers and 4 sisters, and 4 of them are younger than I am, 4 are older.

They will probably laugh at the idea at first but when you prove to them how good you are they will give you support and you will feel a lot better.

    Good luck!

  14. I would not worry about your family hon, if you enjoy writing then go ahead and write, good luck to you.

  15. I think you should just tell your family that writing's something that you really love doing. I don't see why they should find that funny, but if they do just ignore them. Once they realise that you seriously enjoy it, they'll stop anyway.

  16. If That's What You want To Do, Do It It Doesn't Matter What They Think They're Family They Should Support You Not Bring You Down!!

  17. well if you want to test them show them the storys and then lie and say that they are by your friend and see how they react and go from there

    good luck

  18. get one of your friends to mention it to your sisters instead of telling them yourself.  that way, you don't have to show them any of your writing if they are teasing you about it.

you can then say that you weren't going to tell them at all because you thought they'd tease, and you won't show them anything at all unless they stop laughing at you.

you should know, though, that if you ever want to get your work published there are going to be a lot of people criticising it, so you should get used to having a negative reaction sometimes.

i think it's really great that you have something you love to do that is so creative, and i hope you continue with it regardless of what your family thinks.

  19. What I would do is show my family what I've written before really even saying anything about it. Maybe print out a couple of copies or something and just set it somewhere where they might find them and put a note for them to read. I probably wouldn't put my name to show them that I wrote it or anything, I would just want to see how they liked it. Then I would tell them I wrote it. And if they didn't want to read it, then I would explain to them.

But hey, if they do laugh don't worry about it. If it's something you really love you should do it because you love it no matter what people think of it.
