My father thinks track and field isn't for me is he right?

i'm 16 years old i want to do track when i was in the 9th and 10th grade i didn't have confidence at all people still tell me that now. i did track and field practice today intense but i can take it i love pain. but i told my father i wanted to do track he said you know you don't wanna do track, do you even know how to run it was like he was putting me or something even when i football he said the said the same thing. i love reading,writing poetry, and much but i track since i did it today. should i keep trying my best or do you agree with my father. p.s. i do run fast

  1. Do you have any medical condition? If not then you should be OK. Track need not be ultra competitive. You don't have to be the best athelete to participate, especially at the high school level. Tell your father that you're just doing it for fun, to see if you can. You don't care about ribbons. Maybe you do and if you win one, he'll be happy as a clam
