My father was adopted in Scotland in 1941.I am trying to find out who is birth parents were.Who do I contact?

Its your father that should be seeking this information as his mother may not have wanted this information divulged.If he knows what district in Scotland he was born he could try contacting the nearest social service offices there.Or else you could try looking on the free BMD site,it may give his mothers surname along with his birthdate.There will be no other information on there.
