  1. That's definitely not normal. See if it's pulling it's own feathers. They'll do that sometimes if they are experiencing any negative emotions. If it's not pulling its own feathers, it's probably sick. In either case, you should take it to the vet and see what they say. If it is pulling its own feathers, it might not like a number of things. The cage might be to small, it could be you (not to be offensive. My bird didn't like me either), it could be stressed by something, it could be female and be about to lay an egg (probably not), etc.

    Good luck.

  2. Some types of birds pluck the feathers on their chest during breeding season. This should pass in a couple of months. ^_~

    or...

The bird may be plucking. This is a more serious problem. Some things you can do:

Give the bird lots of toys and frequent baths! This should distract the bird. Also, talk to the bird a lot. He may feel lonely. =/

If the feathers don't grow back soon, or the bird starts self-mutilating (tearing it's skin and muscle tissue), take it to a vet!

    Hope I helped! Good Luck!

  3. No it is not normal. You have to check out if it pulls its own feathers. When birds are stressed, bored or sad they can pull their own feathers. It is always a sign of a problem. Take it to the vet and he/she will give you some advice and medication if it is necessary

  4. Why does every one say its not normal???? it is rare but it does happen to 3/10 birds. this should pass, if the bird is old, it may be dieing
