I just got a baby piggie yesterday...I'm not sure how old. All I know is that whenever I pet her or cuddle her she doesn't squeak, and she hasn't drinken from her water bottle. Its low enough for her to reach, but I'm wondering if maybe the metal straw is too big for her mouth. Is that possible?

  3. It possibly can be the metal straw is too big, But if you cant get one right away, If you have cucumber or veggies, that contain water feed it to your little piggie to keep it hydrated, Hope this helps!

  4. my baby guinea pig did that.she is just getting used to the enviromen.give her about 2 days

  5. Your piggie is probably frightened of her new environment & is just being very quiet. Guinea pigs are naturally timid.

I don't think the size of the sipper tube is the issue. It could be that she's drinking so little that you don't notice the water level in the bottle dropping. If you're feeding her veggies, she may be getting her water from that. However, if you are worried, you can always give her water yourself. Using a syringe or a child's medicine dropper, give her one drop at a time. Never force the liquid into her mouth or she could accidentally aspirate the water. That would be very bad.

Alternately, you could try giving her a piece of watermelon, cantaloupe or a slice of cucumber, which all have high water content.
