They typically get along great! She will cuddle with him, but is NOT interested in mating, could she already be pregnant? Should I keep them separate even though he goes nuts when apart...?

  1. I had the same problem and it turned out that my lady bunny was pregnant. I didn't think to seperate them, but when I didn't I witnessed a HUGE fight between them when he tried to mount her. Fur flying, blood drawing, screaming...then the male turned on me when I tried seperating them.

I suggest removing the lady bunny ASAP. I'd hate to see any harm come to the rabbits, much less the little ones she may be carrying inside. =/

  2. How often is 'anytime'??

    Separate them is my advice

Rabbits have induced ovulation, so if he HAS mounted before she is alsmost certainly pregnant.

  3. Sounds like she may already be pregnant.

This is an extreme solution, but you might consider getting another female bunny and having her spayed and keeping her in the cage with the male, especially while your other female is pregnant.

  4. well first off it seems like she might already be pregnant. Bunnies know when they are and if he mounts her again he could get her pregnant again and she could lose the babies. it only takes 2 seconds for them to get pregant. also they have their babies within 28-32 days. you will have to seprate them because the male will eat them. you will also need to make a nesting box for the mommy to be with soft bedding and hay. she will pull out some of her fur to make it softer for them and dont worry about how it looks she will make it the right way. usually the day she  pulls out her fur thats when shes having the babies.

  5. she probably is alredy pregnant and u shouldn't have them together in a cage if she is so seperate them. and even if she isn't pregnant if it distresses her to be in the same cage as him when he is trying to mount seperate them. the males a big boy he can just dry his tears and get over it.

  6. sounds preg already. you should get a spayed female for male while that female is preg. cause its just going to get worse the more he trys the more she is going to get frusterated with him.
