She tries to carry all the kittens, as long as they are smaller than her, and constantly meows for the kittens. She adopted 5 when their mother died along with her 3, and takes every one that comes her way, how do I help her, she is not longer a mother, just in her heart.

  1. This won't hurt her, and if it makes her happy, why not?  Some mama cats can be "foster" moms, by giving other kittens the attention that they need, and teaching them the ways of the world, even if they aren't providing any milk for them.

You have a VERY SPECIAL cat..........love her and take care of her.

    Enjoy.........

  2. Cats will continue to "nurse" kittens even after being spayed. My friend's cat adopted her foster kittens after their mother died. Just make sure the kittens are being hand fed a kitten milk replacement formula every two hours and allow their foster mother to keep them warm and bond with them. She will enjoy loving them up! This is not hurting her in any way.
