Its really small and its just sitting there. I also have a male eclectus so he might have fertalized it, but she dosn't even have a nesting box yet. Also ever since she laied the egg she has been on the opposite side of the cage just sitting there and not moving. She is usually very playful. She almost looks sad. its been this way for a good 3 hours. Can anybody tell me what to do with the egg and what to do with her. at least untill our nesting box comes. Ps. She is not sitting on the egg either.

  1. my bird had a egg once but it wasnt a baby bird egg i think beause my bird ate the yolk from the inside they had 2 other eggs and they took care of it and it hatched so maybe its just the other type of egg ...?

  2. Are your birds of breeding age, and housed together?  You can wait a few days, and candle the egg to see if it has been fertilized. If she is not nesting, then it is likely that it is not fertile. Good luck!
