  1. Hamsters usually need things to chew!

  2. Buy them chew toys they bite because their teeth never stopo growing.

    Good luck!

  3. the hamster is trying to get out, most hamsters see the cage as a jail no matter the stuff you give it. They will try anything to get out, your best bet is to let the hamster stop on her own, she will move on anoth idea on how to get out. Or they might just need something to chew so her teeth don't grow so long, it might be a little bit of both.

  4. 1 to strengthen there teeth or to try and break the bars cause it thinks it can get out

  5. their teeth are always growing. plus rodents are very noctural animals.  my beautiful wife has 2 rats and they go ape nuts during the night.  i dont think it is anything to worry about.  maybe try a slightly bigger cage too.

  6. Hamsters need something to chew - their teeth continously grow, so they need to keep them trimmed down. If it bothers you, you can buy hamster chew-sticks at your local pet store. I find small branches from fruit trees work well too.

  7. hamsters chew on their cage for 3 reasons, they are bored, they need to chew, or they want out. Provide lots of gnawing logs, lots of tubes/hideout or something to climb in or through to keep them entertained.( like toliet paper tubes.) Give you hammy lots of oppertunities to explore outside of their cage, in a ball or on your lap.

  8. Acully a male can do that to. The reason they bite on the bars is because they are macking thier teeth shoerter.

  9. Give her something to chew.  She will still probably do it, though.  You can move her to a glass cage if it is bothering you.

  10. boredom, needing to fulfill that chewing instinct.

Get some wood chew sticks, or even dog biscuits would help.

The hamster will chew on those and grind it's teeth down, and maybe will stop driving you nuts with the noise of her chewing on the cage.

Does she have a wheel?  Sometimes, that helps too, that gives them some exercise and something to do instead of chewing all night long.

    Good luck.

  11. They need something to chew.Their teeth grow next time you should buty a chew toy or maybe he wants to get out of his cage.
