  1. i think the other guy is being a tad too harsh. while a book can be helpful if you plan to breed your birds, you're not going to kill them if you don't have one. there is a thing called google... anyways, you're female is probably checking for possible nesting spots. make sure that there is plenty of nesting material for the birds to use. also if they're is a possibility of egg binding it's going to be obvious( bloody p**p, bird having contractions) one way you can help is give the bird fresh produce, lettuce, oranges, squash. lists can be found online. also if the bird's vent is bloody, wash it gently with a washcloth and some warm water, this will help stimulate the contractions. if you're birds are younger than 2 years though they probably need more time to mature, and you should separate the male and female and discard any eggs that are laid.

  2. It means you have never spent a couple of dollars for a book so you would know what you are dealing with. A $10 dollar book is worth $10,000,000.00 when you are dealing with a bird. This is why you don't have a clue about what is going on. jGo buy a book before you kill your parakeets. Do you know anything about egg binding? You need to either buy a book or go to the library and do some reading. Breeding your parakeets before they are ready........well you can kill them.

  3. it is getting ready to lay  eggs a tip separate the egg because it may eat the egg seriously
