I got a new ferret, because i thought my ferret Yume (near 2 years old) was getting very lonely.. so i've had them caged seperately and i am now at the stage where they are caged together with CONSTANT supervision with tons of free time outside of the cage, and extra attention given to Yume, so she doesn't get jealous over Godzilla. (the new ferret, about 6-7 weeks old). Yume doesn't seem to mind the little guy, she doesn't bite him or anything.. but she does avoid him for the majority of the time, and occassionally spies on him, so it seems. Haha

But Yume has not STOPPED hissing at little Zilla ever since we got him. She acts fine, she's even played with him.. and weasel war danced when she saw him, why is she hissing?

  1. Probably to show dominance. My 2nd fur kid always hisses at my newest fur kid (in my avatar) even when she is playing and having a blast. I think it is because she is showing him she is alpha female (which won't matter for long when he outgrows her soon. (He is 14 weeks old)
