I am trying my very best to help my fiance and his family out, however I'm rather ignorant about these types of things. Poor girl, she's only in her 30s and has just recently found out that she has a cancerous tumor in her uterus, and that it needs to be removed as soon as possible. About six months ago, she was laid off from her job, which doesn't even matter, because her job didn't offer its employees health insurance anyways... She is single and has no kids.

She has asked me if I could place her under my health insurance (I have PPO Blue Cross), and I don't know if this is possible. She is, of course, not related to me, and not a dependent of mine. She has applied for Medicare, but her claim was denied, stating that her condition is "not very serious."

Does anyone have any answers, or any information of how I can help her? Any advice or resources that I can give to her? She needs to get this surgery, soon!

  1. Like in your situation,I would like to advise you have a look here.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/...

  2. does she speak spanish?

Throw her on a wheelchair and roll her into the hospital. Tell her to only speak spanish, and say she's not American. She will be fixed for free. Actually, I'll be paying for it, but, whatever...

  3. Tell her to work it out with her doctor and the hospital.  I needed cardiac catherization and I was unemployed with no insurance. I was referred to the hospital finaance department.  FIRST!! the doctor and the hospital DID the surgery required to insure that I woiuld remain a living being. Then the finance department collected all of the hospital and doctors charges and fees and submitted them thru my County Medical assistance office. Because my income level was low enough the county/state put me on medicaid RETROACTIVE to the date prior to surgery and paid the hospital from the medicaid funds.  I was allowed to saty on medicaid for three months so I could have medical follow up to the surgery and then I was financially reevaluated after three months.

Please have her talk to the doctor and the hospital about having the surgery and submitting the billing  as my hospital did. PS  I live in Pennsylvania.

  4. She should be on Welfare and they have Medical Cards. Take her to the Welfare Office. It's not possible to put her on your insurance. There are many Organizations out there that would probably help also. Start asking around. Best of luck to your fiance's family.
