My fiance and I are in the process of closing on a little condo. The mortgage we'll be paying is less than some rents around our area. Anyways, I've been putting together a shopping list. The way I did it is I tried to plan out our first weeks meal. Then I put all of the ingredients that will be needed for each meal onto the list.

Anyways, just incase we forget something, what are some essential household items that we should pick up? It does not have to be all food items, we've got things like flash lights listed..

Any suggestions as to what we should add would be fantastic!

  1. firsat thing...beer

yes, its not a joke... beer. loosens things up in pressured times when you move out in the world

next, you need stuff for safety

like an emergency kit if the power goes out or theres a fire or something

then, if you have furnature, just get provisions. batteries, light bulbs, extra towels or blankets and sheets. toothbrushes, vaccums and bags, pencils and paper, power surges, kleenex boxes. i know, its a lot, but you need things you dont think about until its too late, and every little thing has a purpose

  2. Well congratulations, to begin with, on your upcoming nuptials and your new home.

If you've never lived on your own, your list is going to be so long!  There are so many weird things you need to buy, that you wouldn't think of.

    -a dish drying rack

    -toilet clean brush

    -garbage can

    -toilet paper!

-silverware, glasses, plates, bowls, pots, pans, etc

Wow.. I've been on my own so long I can't remember what else.
