  1. I was born and raised in Bryan/College Station TX. 24 years and counting!

I would check out San Antonio, you can go to the Riverwalk (very romantic). They have restaurants and shops all around, and you could take a little boat ride. There's a wax museum right around the boardwalk as well. And of course...The Alamo. Sea World is in SA as well, which could be fun if you are open to it. Oh, and if you like Mexican food...this is the place to get it! Anywhere downtown has great great food.

There are some really great great hotels around the San Antonio area that will really take care of you. You can look up all hotels on the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce site.

I would personally not go to Austin for a honeymoon...not in October anyway. Yes, there are sights, but they would be better during the summer.

Another place I would recommend...Fredericksburg. It's a little German town outside of Austin, about an hour. Lots of sights to see around there. Plenty of Antique shops. They have nice little hotels around there, and they are very home-y. Lots of shops in town, along with GREAT german food as well as Italian. Lukenbach is close by too, so you have that as well.

Galveston is nice around that time. The water hasn't gotten to where it's too cold to get in and wade around. Moody Gardens is down there, as well as NASA. There is a Rail Road museum and an Airplane museum that are both pretty neat. If you like seafood, I recommend checking out Gaido's. Possibly the best seafood you will ever eat in your lifetime. Try the Gumbo! Landry's is there as well, which is a famous seafood place. There is plenty to do in Galveston, and would be a fun honeymoon spot.

  2. I don't know where you're from but there are lots of great hotels in Dallas that would be very romatic and fun to spend the weekend in.  Or Austin is a great city with a lot of nightlife and things to do.  It really depends what kind of thing you are looking for.

  3. i don't know but you can go to http://www.orbitz.com they have a good slection and they have great prices.

  4. basketball game

  5. A little more information would he helpful.  Where are you coming from?  Does it need to be near an airport?  What do you like to do?

Personally I think you spend 2/3 of your time in bed on the honeymoon anyway so it always seemed pointless to shell out loads of cash to stay someplace super special with lots of things to do....you'll be missing them all and/or feel pressured and stressed trying to fit in all the quality time and see everything!  Many of the smaller lakes around (in my area Murray, Quitman, Fork, Ray Roberts...) have very inexpensive cabins.  If you go during the offseason when there isn't a fishing tournament we were able to pick up our own rented house for $75 a night or $150 for the whole weekend and it had a private hot tub and boating dock.

The more you stay close to big cities like Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, or Houston the more you will pay because they are tourist attractions and the deman is higher with the big airports so close.

  6. i would plan a long weekend around the texas renaissance festival

  7. It is off season in San Antonio...and off season at SOuth Padre Island.

Check the travel sights and work from there.
