  1. There is no garuntee of him getting time off between basic and his tech school.  He may get some time between tech school and his first assignment but it may not be more than a few days.  My suggestion would be to have everything ready for a simple, civil ceremony when he gets that time.  You can then plan on a bigger ceremony later on, once you know where he will be stationed and when he can request leave.

  2. Let me just say this.  When a guy first joins the military it is like a different world.  There will be plenty of opportunities to meet different women.  I've seen many cases like yours.  It seems all good at first but once your fiance gets stationed on a ship and hangs out with the fellows it can be your biggest down fall.  I'm just telling you if you are young take your time.  Don't rush into anything.

Basic, your fiance will be very busy.  He will have down time for about an hour to write you on a Sunday. Also a phone call every now and then.  He will be gone about 8 weeks.  He will get leave for a couple weeks and off to his duty station.  He may want to just relax when he comes home.  Marriage might be a little overwhelming at first.  Don't rush it. Hopes this helps.

  3. My boyfriend just got done with basic so I have everything fresh in my mind. He'll be there for about 2 months and will give you his graduation dates as soon as he finds it out. However it can change depending on how well he does, some guys get pushed back if they don't do well. You should get a letter in about a week or so giving you his address at basic that you can write to him at. He will only be able to write to you every Sunday but he can get your letters everyday. Stick to just sending him letters and appropriate pictures (they will pass pictures/check pictures) otherwise he can get I.T.'d. Write to him often and in a few weeks you will probably get a phone call from him. You'll probably get one the week before he graduates depending on how well his division and he does.

The time off he will get will all depend on the 'A' school he is being assigned too. Some are going to be stationed there in IL or will be sent off. They have the weekend during the day free but will have to be back every night probably around 8pm.

Your best bet if you are planning to get married is to wait until after his 'A' school when he will get about 10 days leave to go home or wherever he wants to spend his free time.

Wish I could be more help but I am also new to this :)

  4. First of, congratulations to him and you. Write to him everyday if you have his address, if not then call his recruiter and find out, he should know by now. Also for support and advice go to http://www.mynavyonline.com I'm KJC88 we can help more with advice on the marriage, and depending on his rating and schooling we can help out on whether he will have leave or if he'll have to take leave after/during A school for the marriage. Good luck.

  5. Time may not be on your side pertaining to the time he may (or may not) be deployed.

Girl, love this man with all your heart. You never said what he does in the Navy but love him dearly. Write to him everyday. He's pretty safe if he's in the Navy but if you need him to come back to you then you need to be faithful, proud and distinguished. Don't ever stop loving him because I can guarantee you that he has never stopped loving you.

He will come back to you because he has a wonderful woman to come back to!
