My fiance talked me in putting on her cocktail dress & a slip for a last minute hem adjustment! Was this some?

kind of a test or does it really help to have someone wearing the dress ? We are close to the same size but she sure seemed to be giggling alot so I don't know if I got played?

I met you after you've been married for a year.  His wife snaps her fingers and he jumps.  She wakes him up at night and tells him to get her some water.  She told him to decorate the tables for a reception and he went to making the folds in the table clothes.  All I have to say is hold on to your go-gos.

Yes it dose help to have someone wear the dress...she was probely just giggling alot cuz her guy was in a dress that is all you were not played!!!

that's funny! But i sew, and when doing hems on dresses, it really does help if i can pin it up while the person is wearing it because of the way dress hems are round and tend to become uneven very quickly.

did she make you put on her shoes too??!!

ps. if i had asked my fiance to do this, he would pitch fit, but i bet he would still do it because he loves me, so don't feel played.

As a sewer, it helps immensely- having an actual body to pin on allows a better hemline.  However, unless your fiancee and you have the same curves (which I doubt since physiologically men's hips are shaped differently) then it might not have helped as much as having one of her girlfriends do it instead.  So, while she was probably on a time crunch and just needed somebody- anybody- to fit the dress on, she more than likely also got a kick out of seeing you in drag.

It actualy does help if someone is in the dress b/c it is different lengths and lays different when it is on a hanger and when it is on someone! I would have giggled to, but unless you wanted to be the one to try and hem her dress and slip and possibly s***w it up i think you did a good thing!

That is frekin' funny! I did the same thing to my fiance, he wore a mini skirt though. It was so funny. But I made him do just for the fun of it. I think it does help seeing the dress on someone but it's not necessarily a guy. I think she did it for fun.

I doubt it was a test - it's hard to adjust your own hem because you have to keep bending over to get at it. But I'm sure it was a funny situation. You're a good fiance to help her out.
