My fiance took the AT-SAT test and passed with a "well qualifed" score. He has been on numerous referal lists and has never been selected.

Last saturday he recieved an email asking for his geological preferences and stating the following:

"Please note that this e-mail is only for your use to provide your geographic and facility preferences to the Aviation Careers Division. This is not to be construed as a job offer. After you provide the required information using the link below we will provide an opportunity for your application to be reviewed for possible selection in the near future.

Please provide this information as quickly as possible, replies submitted after Friday, May 23, 2008 will diminish your ability to be selected for these positions."

Anyone have any suggestions or any insight?

Thanks for your help!!

  1. You fill out the geographical selection sheet. When the agency has an open hiring board for a job in one of the regions he selects his name will be put on the list with all the other candidates eligable for the job. If he is selected he will receive a call asking him if he would like the job.

After he accepts the position he'll be sent some paperwork for a background check, medical exam, drug test and psychological exam along with a tentative offer.

When all of that is done he will receive a call with a date to attend the FAA academy. He'll go to OKC for 1.5 months (for terminal) or 3 months (for en-route) plus an additional 1.5 months if he is not a CTI student or retired military controller.

After the academy he'll report to his facility and begin work.
