Have the tractors (they've restored them together and gone to shows...etc) as part of the wedding this is what i'd do. Now, we are both from small farming communities however I've had horses, not the actually farming equip. most of my life. He has, so...do you think this is tacky and people will think we are just rednecks (ok...so we kinda are) but I told him I would decorate the tractor w/ "just married" and ride around the field with him. See, our wedding is outdoors and we are having the reception at the same place so we were thinking it'd be cool just to do that since we don't get to have the get-a-way car. What do you guys think?!

  1. its ur special day watever is good - but it does sound a bit redneckish but hey u have a great time

  2. Whatever floats your boat...

  3. I think it sounds like you are a bunch of rednecks and everyone who passes will be laughing their asses off at you.  But it's your wedding and you should enjoy your day.

  4. cute.

make sure to get pictures while on it!

  5. cute idea...it will really show your personalities and your background as farmers.  great pictures too.

  6. I think that would definitely cute to drive around the farm for a few minutes alone right after you get married. My Aunt and Uncle got married on his ugly pickup truck named brownie. Just parked it in the middle of the yard and got married. It was awesome.

  7. sounds good go for it

  8. I compromised and am having some of my pics done with the John Deere... My fiance wanted them SO bad i had to give in lol! We're going to pose on them/near them so he has some pictures. He tried to get me to do the "Just Married" riding on tractors thing but I was like "No way am I climbing onto a tractor in this gown!" and he relented lol... But if your dress can handle it, go for it!!!

    Good luck

  9. I think that is a great idea!!!! It's part of your background and your making it part of one of the biggest days in your life. That is awesome! Best Wishes :-)

  10. I think its a cute idea.  I had a friend leave in a horse drawn pumpkin, cinderella looking carriage and it was so lame...your idea sounds cute, especially since you come from farming communities.

  11. OK....if I understand correctly....you are NOT getting married in front of the tractors, but simply decorating one tractor and riding around on it?

I think that is FINE!  Hey, it is a way for him (and you) to show your personalities.  I am sure everyone attending grew up in the same rural area, so no one will think it's odd.

I think it sounds fun!  Who cares what others think!  So many times the groom's ideas get pushed aside.  If this is something he wants, and you have compromised, I say go for it!

I hope you have a beautiful wedding and a happy life together!

  12. I think it's different and unique, and if it's what you really want, then go for it! Don't listen to people who try and tell you what a wedding is "supposed" to be like. Do your own thing and do it proudly!

  13. I think the tractor with the 'just married' is a great idea.  Good for you!  So many women would have nixed it entirely, but it is now and will continue to be important to him.

  14. It's a cute idea to decorate it with just married etc. Thats cute

  15. Sorry, a John Deere wedding sounds very cool to me!  I like your idea too!

  16. Great idea, but not so good if you want a quick getaway to get some privacy.

  17. I think it would be cute if you decorate it with a just married =]

  18. i think getting married outside is soo cute but i dont think in front of tractors is the best place. but it would be real funny to ride around when it says just married. maybe, its up to u guys, ur the ones getting married, do what u want!

    good luck to u guys!!

  19. Honey, it's your wedding, if you want to have a good old fashioned ho down with some tractors, GO FOR IT!!!

  20. Redneck yes........NOT tacky at all. It doesnt sound like the two of you are LIMO types. Do who you are. You are going to be joining hands in marriage going into the world as one, do it as who you are not what the "norm" is.
