  1. no that isnt true but if you leave them ontop of an open fireplace they recharge, we did it at school on a trip and it worked!! not sure if they were normal or alkaline but i think there is some truth in it

  2. he is pis*ing in your pocket mate

  3. Rubbish trying to recharge standard batteries in any way will just make them either hot or leak.

your friend is trying to fool you!

only rechargeable batteries can be recharged and they need electricity to do that not vinegar and sound!

  4. Nope, once they are wet they are useless, and they could leak!!!

  5. To start with the vinegar would seep into the battery and cause problems, so I wouldn't bother with this.

Best save the money and buy some proper rechargeable batteries and a charger.

How much would you spend on fuel to boil the battery for 2 hours?!?!

Fluid would then trickle out of the battery whilst it was on top of your speaker and ruin the speaker finish!

  6. she is pulling your leg! the batteries in the vinegar will react to the acid in the batteries making them explode. its not a good thing to do!

yes, you can recharge normal batteries but you need to buy this special battery charger which will actually recharge normal throw away batteries.

some gadget places sell them for about £20 which is not bad.

  7. No way. I think your friend has serious issues.

  8. Standard batteries can be re-charged,but with a special charger and certainly not by the method your drug addled friend advises!

  9. Even if it did work (which it doesn't ) it would cost more in energy and vinegar to recharge the batteries than the cost of buying new batteries. The most cost effective way is to buy rechargable batteries and get a solar charger to charge them. (assuming you will recharge them many times)

  10. No. You can rechrge then using heat, but i wouldn't recommend it if the battery says do not recharge as it could make the appliance you use them in faulty.

To recharge them, fill two (or one if you don't have two) hot water bottles with boiling water. Nearly completly fill them, put the lid on, then put your batteries ontop. Then put the other hot water bottle on top of the batteries. (if you don't have a second hot water bottle, cover them with a kitchen towel to insulate) Then just leave them till the water bottles are cooled. The best time to do this is at night in an airing cubboeard so the water bottles stay warmer for long and the batteries can get a recharged as possible.

And don't get them wet or they are useless.

  11. nay not true!!!  you can give them a slight charge like that but noting that will last!!!

    ok wet batteries=dead batteries

    buy new ones easier
