My fight against racism!?

Question

I had an arson attempt on my life in 2007 which was in the Voice newspaper. The person is now in prison. Bromford Housing Association, has denied that any such crime had taken place in this newspaper! They even told me that the person in prison was a nice person (they were on remand!!)

While this person was in jail the parents were paying the rent until they pleaded guilty. Bromford now claim to my local Mp that they evicted this person for crime they done to me, when in reality it was because no rent was being paid after the conviction!

Now they have moved in racist neighbours who have created h**l for us but made it so subtle that its our words against theirs! my girlfriend was pushed by this white neighbour yesterday 22 august 2008, and I was told by my white friends that because I am a black male if I retaliate I will get done, not him!

I am frustrated as the system is letting me down. I have been under great stress because of it, and no solicitor will take it on as my claim is against Bromford Housing Association. What do I do?

This neighour is now using aggression and threats of violence, but it is his words against mine and i am told that as a black male no one will take my words but his. I know that this situation will lead to a violent confrontation, or his mates killing me as he has so many who go to his flat. I fear that I will be anothet Stephen Lawrence

This sounds like h**l, all I can suggest is record every thing, try and get re housed etc, etc, etc.

Honestly, I know exactly how you feel. Cause the same thing is happening to me right now! Its easy for people to say just walk away from the situation, but its different when its acutally happening to you. An it is pretty sad that white word might be heard over ours, but you have to make them listen too. Your an indivdual, your a person, and I feel like any one should be heard; no matter what color they are. Obvisouly the person isn't so nice if he tried to hurt some one! It's been decades since the civil rights movent and we will for ever have rascism in this country, and in the world. Sadly to say its not going anywhere any time soon! BE STRONG!

Why not record what he says privately by voice recorder or camera and use it as evidence when you see a lawyer.

No solicitor will take it as their is no crime to sue for. You have neighbors that dont like you. BHA is under no obligtion to get your approval of other tenants or to protect you. If the neighbors assault you then call the police.  The easy answer is to move.

GOD I HATE RETARDS LIKE THAT... any chance you can get away from where you live? because the way I see it theres not much you can do, the system is against you so no matter what you say you'll be put down... of course you can always TRY, see if you can get a good lawyer (the government has to give you one by law, i dont think you have to pay), and then you can sue him for harassment.

Forget about race for one minute... Treat as you would any other crime tell the police what is happening, don't push the race issue unless it is blatant and can be proven. The police will be able to tell what sort of 'people' they are dealing with once they have spoken with them. Sound like they are very ignorant and will show there true colours to the officers. If he pushed your girlfriend that is assault ring the police and insist they do something your girlfriend will have to make a statement but unless you do something to stop this bullying then it will continue.As somebody has suggested try to get video evidence.

You know if you are a landlord these days, you can't say no to anyone. If you do, you are in trouble. Can't discriminate by race or racism. Sometimes it swings both ways.
