he used to be active, but now he sleeps aaaallllllllllllll the time.

he hardly eats, and he is having a hard time staying on the botton of the tank.

It started about a month ago, I thought he was going to die, but he is still kicking.

he did get fin rot, but I fixed it, thought It has been really hot here, so maybe it is just the temp?

I also, changed his tank water and cooled it down, maybe that was a bad idea? not sure.

any insight would be nice, thank you!

  1. your betta may be stressed, always condition the water, and make sure that the waters nice and warm, not hot-warm just warm. Also depends how much gallons is he in? try putting him in a 2.5-5 gallon tank. (Makes them really happy) If this started a month ago things may not look good, but dont give up,treat him for stress (DO NOT overdose, and always look for dosing directions) if you think hes not getinng enough air, a air pump would be nice but set at low strength (bettas perfer steady calm water)

make sure you do regular changes, and that your fsh doesn't have ick, or any other sickness. When your betta is sick make sure that you catch any symptoms of stress or sickness as soon as possible by daily checking up on them. Also try feeding your betta blood worms (they love it) brine shrimp (you can hatch them yourself, or buy hatched) ect...Best of Luck! I really hope your betta gets well soon! =]

  2. Well Changing their water is recommended at least once a month. You should use a water conditioner after you change his water and then of course put him back in after the water settles for a few minutes.
