My film camera is blinking "AV", what does this mean?

  1. it could mean your camera is set in aperture value wich means it controls the aperture of the camera by its self or it could mean that the aperture for your shutter speed is not correct the faster the sutter speed the larger the lens should open for light so if your shutter speed is very high try lowering it and just keep adjusting the two until its even and the picture is crisp


  2. Pentax and Canon use Av to represent the aperture priority mode on their cameras  Av means Aperture value.

    A blinking one may be telling you that the aperture has extended the reciprocal shutter speed beyond the highest shutter speed available on your camera .. stop down a few stops and see if the Av stops blinking.
