I have put pressure on it and elevated it. It has been over a hour and it is still bleeding. I cut it on a knife when i was reaching for something. its around 1cm deep. Is there any way i can stop the bleeding at home without going to the ER?

Please don't reply go to Doctor or ER.

  1. it sounds like some kind of hemophelia.(disorder where your blood wont clot) is there any history of that in your family???

  2. I suggest you go to this link. www.revolutionhealth.com/conditions/firs...

  3. Do you have any diseases that you are aware of? if you don't perhaps i guess go to a doctor or something, but if you do have a disease you may have hemophilia but other that that you should go to a doctor.

  4. 1cm sounds quite deep, you may need stitches. Keep applying pressure and keep elevated. It may stop after some time, I wouldn't run it under a tap as I find that can prevent clotting.

Good luck. I wouldn't ask any more questions for a bit or your computer will look a state.

  5. Butterfly it shut!! What I mean is squeeze the opening shut, then wrap pressure tape around it if you can! Your best bet though is going to the doctor. you could be losing a lot of blood. you will also start to get dizzy, from losing blood.

  6. You have done what you should to try and stop the bleeding but I'm sorry to say you may need to get it stitched up because you could have cut an artery and it will continue to bleed. Don't just think about the bleeding also remember it could become infected.
