My fingernails are horrible!!any suggestions?

they have lines going up on them but there not like dirty or any thing i clean them and dose anyone know how to make your fingernails longer

You could either go get a manicure and they can buff out the ridges or you can just buy a nail buffer from any drug store and buff it out yourself.  I recommend having a manicure done.  Really watch how they fix your nails and then just try and do the same yourself when needed.

Here are a few tips that will help:

1. water is the enemy...it softens nails so wear gloves

2. don't abuse your nails by using them to pick or pry things

3. don't bite your nails

4. don't pick or chew on your cuticles

5. rub moisturizer into your nails when you apply it to your hands

6. keep your nails short and slightly rounded

7. don't use polish remover more than twice a month

8. apply a nail hardener, but avoid products containing toluene sulfonamide or formaldehyde

the lines are called ridges. you can get rid of them by buying a nail buffer (at the drugstore) and following the steps. they make your nails look soooo shiny!

go to a salon and tell them you need acrylics(if that's how they spell it)

it's when they add on nail extensions from half of you nail and file down the top so it looks natural, then you could probably use a pinkish nude nail polish to make it look even more natural!

Nail strengthener and hardener for one thing. Try getting a manicure and asking the technician what they would suggest. If all else fails get acrylics or gels.
