My fingers go numb after 25 minutes of scrolling on the mouse. It is not painful but it is annoying? I move my hand and all kinds of things but this does not stop it. My desktop mouse never has bothered me. What causes this?

  1. it is an early sign of carpal tunnel syndrome. It is a medical condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist (the volar or anterior or the "underside" aspect of the wrist). Eventually this can lead to pain, paresthesias, and muscle weakness in the hand (affected). I also have numbness sometimes especially if i use my computer everyday (successively). what i do is i make sure that i do not compress or put pressure on my wrist. i don't put my wrist all the way down to the table...or that mouse "coaster" thingy (i forgot the name/term for it). it is also good if you have frequent breaks in between computer work (before the numbness starts) to allow your median nerve to rest. if the numbness stops at a longer period, its a sign that you also need longer rest periods. if it does not help, ask help from a physical therapist or a neurologist or an orthopedic surgeon...take care no to wait for  the pain and paresthesias (paralysis) to set in.
