My first Himalayan HELP!!!!!!?

well i have a himalayan kitten he's 18wks but he just don't seem to be fluffy like other himalayan's i saw the partents so i know he's not a half breed but what can i do to make him look like a cotton ball? and please no smart remaks thanks

  1. If you saw both parents, it is not likely he came from a responsible/reputable breeder.  Rarely, do good breeders have both parents on site, cats are often driven or flown long distances to be bred with the best genes.  You also do not know for sure that is the parent, they could have other cats, or the cat could have been outside or either cat you saw could have had mixed parents.  Responsible breeders will provide information on many generations of cats to show they are purebred, some even provide genetic test results.

    Himmies do not get their full adult coats until about 1-2 years, sometimes longer.  That is one reason for the lack of coat.  Poor breeding can also contribute to the poor coat quality.  

    He'll likely be fluffy enough soon enough so keep brushing.

  3. Sometimes when himalayans are young they dont have as much fluff, but just wait, and it will grow!

    oh and make sure to brush the fur out, to make it look extra fluffy!
