  1. You should expect to get into the dance right away if its not a class for beginners. Don't be emberassed or intimidated to ask to have a step repeated, you wont look stupid. You'll actually look more so if you dont.

Bring a comforatble shirt or leotard if you have one. I wear a mandatory black (navy blue for ballet) leotard and I wear lululemon pants over top (but any other type of pants works, except jeans, and AVOID loose fitting pants if you can help it. I also wear a short flowy skirt for ballet and for jazz & acro i also wear my Dirty Dancing shorts (:

Also, bring a water bottle as you will get very thirsty.

Dont forget to stretch well before class or you'll feel it later!

  2. bring you ballet+jazz shoes, and wear appropriate clothing. You would expect in both classes :

*Barre Work (back stretches arabesque  etc)

*Stretching in the center / center work

*Across the floor with a partner (traveling dance steps)

                              Good Luck and have funn!

  3. On your first day of ballet and jazz you should expect a room full of other students, ready to dance. You should bring black jazz shoes, your ballet shoes and a snack: water and a piece of fruit. Your hair should be in a bun, if not a slick back ponytail and you should look professional in your clothes, wear the appropriate dance clothes.

  4. ballet:

bring a water bottle, ballet shoes, and you should look into your studios dress code for ballet, but probably a solid black leotard, pink tights, and you should ask your teacher if you need

    a: canvas, leather, or either

    b: split sole, or whole

jazz: black jazz shoes, with low heel, 1/4 - 1/2 in , black loose capris or pants, and a black leotard, and depending on the dress code, a loose tank top or tee shirt.

ASK YOUR INSTUCTER IF THERE IS A DRESS CODE!

  5. ummm well you bring you self and you just have to be open minded and ready to learn and also stay patient also bring ballet shoes and jazz shoes if you have them you can bring a water bottle if you want too. for clothes wear a leotard with a skirt over it for ballet(not jean) or you could just wear something stretchy like not jeans and for jazz you could basically wear anything besides jeans o yeah for ballet you should wear your hair in a bun and for jazz you can put it in a messy bun or ponytail

  6. Bring yourself. Ask your teacher if there is a dress code. You may get corrections, and this is nothing to be afraid of. Corrections are good and help you to learn.

Jazz- My jazz studio I have to wear beige tights and black bodysuit. If you are about 13 you should be able to wear a tank top and dancing shorts. We had to wear a ponytail. If our hair was short we had to wear it back in a headband. Jazz shoes.

Ballet- We had to wear a blue bodysuit and pink dance tights.  We could not wear shorts or shirts and had to wear ballet shoes.

Bring  a water and don't bring food because you could get in trouble.

This is what we have to have.

Bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn the dance moves and stretches.

  7. oh, good luck :)

for ballet, you should expect hard work,

lots of work, and lots of toe pointing, standing

up straight, bending your knees, and achy legs!

for jazz, expect lots of energy and fun!

you should bring your shoes if you have them.

for ballet, ballet slippers and for jazz, jazz shoes.

if you don't, just wear socks and roll them halfway

    down your foot.

wear clothes you can move in.

most ballet classes require you to wear a leotard,

and pink tights, and you can sometimes wear shorts

    overtop.

uh, nothing i'd like to add, but have fun !
