I'm not really sure if I have to wear a showcoat to show. Everytime I see a picture of someone showing they have a showcoat. Do I really need to go out to buy one for some fun shows or can I just wear something else?

  1. You should get a coat....Even schooling shows you should have one available just in case everyone is wearing full attire. At rated shows it is pretty much mandatory unless it is very hot the judge will sometimes decide you don't have to wear your coat. A lot of times though especially in equitation they will make coats mandatory even if it is very hot.

  2. I would personally go with a show coat because of the class that it adds you show the judges that you are there to compete and win and that you are ready and prepared for the class that you have entered.

  3. It depends on what classes you are showing in and at what level. If you are just going to do a schooling show/fun show then no just but a ratcatcher or nice show shirt. If you are competing in a rated show or some jumping classes it might be a good idea to buy one. Go to your local tack shop and ask the sales people about it. They're there to help. You can also go online. If you go to www.statelinetack.com they have a lot of stuff there too. Good luck in your show!!!

  4. When i did jumping i didnt normally use a coat but the judges will prefer you wear one.....
