My full first name is Leland- Tarantino, but i hate it. I don't use it and i have called myself Leo since i was 6. But officially on all my paper work it's Leland- Taratino Ricardo Carlson. That's such a mouthful. I hate it. Can anyone suggest anything?

  1. I love the name Leo.

If you do change it, just take out "Taratino." The rest is okay.

  2. Well, i would say, dont change it, its a nice name. Its unique. But if you really dont like it, you would have to go to court and change all of your paper work to the name you want. Its a handful work.

  3. What?!!  That's an awesome name!!  Don't change it!

  4. yes you can as of 16 as your now known as an adult, i quite like it, remember your parents did'nt name you lightly they probably took loads of hours thinking so its up to you but i would'nt x

  5. i don't think its that bad. i'm guessing ur spanish or something.

as long as you call yourself leo, i think its fine. i think full names like that are s**y, btw. (:

but if you must change... i think all you need is like parents permission, or you could just wait till ur 18 or whatever.?

but whatever, irs only two years, but your call

    (: good luck

  6. Why dont you just ask people to call you something different and ask your caretaker to put it on your school papers OR you could get it changed now but your name should be like a memory of your parents

Also it is expensive to change it

  7. its a nice name, but you will have to publish in the newspaper etc

  8. you can change it... if u go to the name change place (ahh i cant remeber the name of it at the moment) and as long as ur parent signs saying that u can change it u can change ur namee/

  9. then talk to your legal guardian and see if they would allow you to legally change your name.until you are 18 they would have to sign to give you permission to do so.go to your local court house and ask what you need to do to make it happen and what it will cost if anything.

you will find the courts never do anything for free, good luck!

  10. Yes you can change your name but you'll need to see a solicitor about it. You can either get it done officially or by DE. De-pole just means you can use Leo legally on documents but it will still be Leland- Truanting on your birth certificate. I like that name though. My name is awful, it's Kiesha and like you i've been Lowey since i was little

  11. No you have to wait until you are 18 yrs old.

  12. You can file for a formal name change at the court house. You need to have your parents permission though. If you wait til you are 18 you can petition the courts without your parents approval. In California it costs about $450 in filing fees. My son was upset that they just added a second page to his birth certificate. They do not issue a new birth certificate. You will have two pages to carry around.

  13. i think its a good name i would leave it for a while as you grow older you will get used to it hopefully you will start to like it, try to use the name with women im sure there are plenty of women who will like that name, once you realize this you will automatically start to like it your self!!!

  14. Change it when you can if you want..

Leo is a great name :)

    Leo Ricardo Lastname is cool.

  15. Check the laws where you are but you may have to wait until you are 18 to change it without your parents consent.

Think long and hard abut it before you do and talk to your parents about why they name you that it may have more meaning than you realize

  16. what, it's your name!! don't change it... yes it's probably embarassing when the teacher says it on the first day of school... i don't like mine either, but it's not as bad as it could be!!! think of it that way!

    I actually really like Leo!!

  17. I would change it to Leonardo Ricardo Carlson.

You may have to wait until you are 18 without permission of your guardians.

  18. I'm with you on that one, Leo is much nicer than Leland!

You don't say what country you're from so I have no idea what the laws are where you are....

It would cost you to change your name, you'd have to go to maybe court, or some name change place (I'm a bit clueless), but providing you're over the minimum age it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

    Good luck with it.

  19. Leland isn't a bad name (I actually kinda like it), but "Leland-Tarantino" IS kinda long...

Yes, I think you can change it, almost at any time, though you'll have to A LOT of legal stuff first.  Just talk to a lawyer, whom you can find in the yellow books or online.

  20. Suck it up and get it changed when you turn 18. You've dealt with it for 16 years; surely you can last another 2.
