  1. Ahh I'm 14 and have taken 432948928x plane rides.

to me they are SUPERRR fun.

They don't give you food anymore.

but they do give you soda or juice.

The take off sorta freaks me out, because your tilted up a little bit. But it doesn't take long to straiten out. The landing is fun :P

The gum helps your ears pop, because the high altitude plugs them up.

There isn't really much to do on the plane but they have a radio you can listen to in the arm rest.

even though you have your iPod haha.

Overall it's not that bad.  I hope you have funnn (:

  2. Don't be too worried. Be expecting some turbulance, that is when the plane gets a bit bumpy, just remember nothing is wrong with the plane, its just the wind. If they tell you its turbulance, its turbulance.

I suggest trying not to sit in the emergency exit or in front or back of it, because you can't recline your seat.

Make sure you bring your own food and water, but if you bring outside drinks, your gonna get them taken away. So go through security and then on the other side buy drinks. Don't eat the food on the airplane, you'll get sick.

Bring plenty of gum, because your ears will hurt when you land. So i suggest not taking it out, because i did that and it hurt so bad when i landed.

Just remember to relax and stay calm when there is turbulance. Take off isn't actually that scary,  but landing can be pretty rough. Good Luck and Have Fun in Florida!

  3. Most people find the take off and landing to be the scariest--especially if the plane makes a sudden turn in one direction, and you happen to be sitting on the side it's turning toward (you're practically lying on the window and looking down). I actually find it kind of fun and exhilarating! Once you're above the clouds, you'll probably get bored because there usually isn't much to look at. If you're flying during the day and the whiteness of the clouds is too blinding, you can always close the shutter.

Sometimes they put on a boring movie, so it's a good thing you have the ipod.

Don't let the turbulence scare you. That usually happens when air currents go up and down, causing the plane to jerk. It's totally normal, though.

Airplane food is usually crappy. I suppose they probably don't give you much if you're flying a short distance, but if you're flying across seas or for more than a few hours, you usually get some kind of little tiny steak thing with vegetables and a little piece of cake, or something similar (at least if you're in coach). It's never anything to get excited over, although I'm sure that the people in first class probably get better food--not that I'd know.

Gum helps when your ears pop at a high altitude, which can be slightly painful sometimes. Swallowing your saliva helps too. You don't need to bring packs and packs of gum with you, though. One is good enough. Just remember to keep swallowing whenever you feel your ears pop, and you'll be fine. I never get any pain after getting off the plane, and I've been on 16 hour flights.

Remember to wear something comfortable--comfy shoes that you can slip off, for example. You really don't want to get stuck sitting in something extremely tight and suffocating for seven hours, trust me. And don't worry too much about trying to pretty yourself up in the bathroom because everybody looks like c**p after they get off a long flight.

If you're planning on wearing light clothing, bring a sweater onto the plane just in case because sometimes they really crank up the air conditioning and it gets chilly, although on longer flights they'll usually provide you with blankets. If I'm wearing flip flops on the plane, I always like to pack a pair of socks because my feet get cold.

If I were you, I'd also bring a book or magazine or crossword or something, in case your ipod runs out of batteries or in case you get bored of that. Everybody's different, but I find it impossible to fall asleep on a plane no matter how long I'm flying for because the engines are too loud for me, and you don't really have a lot of room to get comfortable, so keep that in mind, in case you're thinking, Oh I'll probably sleep through the whole thing anyway.
