  1. A corn snake is best for beginners and if you want to hold the snake you probably should go with a corn snake. (they like to be held!) They come in designer colors too! Also they don't grow as long as a boa. Corn snakes can get up to 4-5 feet whilst a boa can be over 5 ft. The best place to get a healthy corn is at a breeder.

    Supplies

20 gal tank (with a VERY tight lid or the snake will escape)

mice (the bigger the snake the bigger the mice!) (baby snakes eat crickets)

    hide box

water bowl (heavy and big enough for the snake to sit in)

    thermometer and hygrometer (humidity)

    wood chips

(tip= don't feed live mice because they might bite the snake which is VERY BAD)

  2. Most snakes eat mice and stuff like that, so if you're willing to watch a snake chase a mouse, go for it.

  3. ball python, blood python, garter snake

almost all eat mice (except for the garter snake/ribbon snake/rough/smooth green snake which eats bugs when there young and can eat mice with adults but some will only eat bugs)

  4. What do you mean by cute and loveable?  Something that doesn't mind being held a lot or something that you can fall asleep with in your lap.  A lot will depend on your snakes personality.  Most people say that they take their Ball Pythons out and that the snake will just chill with them on the persons neck or whatever...my Ball Pythons come out and they want to go exploring, they have things to do.  I had a Blood Python that would lay on top of me and I would fall asleep and wake up an hour or two later and she would still be there, however Bloods can be tempermental snakes the other Blood we had was all snake and would try to bite anything that came close to him.  That being said Ball and Blood Pythons aren't great starter snakes because they need specific humidity requirements which can be a pain in the butt to maintain.  Kingsnakes and Cornsnakes are really good starter snakes and they are usually very friendly little things.  My kingsnakes love being out and playing on my computer desk.  They "crawl" all over the speakers and the monitor and the keyboard.  I have an old wheat thins box that i cut the top off of and they like to hide in it.  Kings and Corns dont really have to have that much humidity...I only spray my Kingsnake tanks once a week.

Pretty much all snakes eat mice or other reptiles.

Sorry it was so long.  Good luck!

  5. i got a corn snake yesterday, hes 2, and not too big.

i think there perfect, i know he wont bite cos he has never bitten anyone n his 2 years.

i got a tank, heat mat, coral sand, water dish, cave hide, and fake leaves, it cam to around £200, but im america thats like idk around $175...i think.

it so nice, to watch, and it just lays on my stomach for hours.

and corn snakes come in all diffrent colours, i saw a nice pink one, and bron, red, all sorts

    there grate

  6. I defintly suggest you get a corn, they feed on pinkie mice when you first get them, they are very cute, i have a corn and a king, my corn has bitten me once, only when i had the scent of a mouse on my hand...
