A couple days ago I noticed my fish had a red and white bump on his head. Today he has a red line going down his back to his tail. Does he have a disease? What should I do? And can it kill him?

  1. your fish got so much stress try change freshwater with rocksalt plus methylene blue and good aeration.  It will kill him if you leave it unattended

  2. i know it sounds silly, but take him to the vet. There could be a possible disease so i think that would be a good option. What kind of fish is it?

  3. you should get a book about fish and look all through it cause i have never had a fish that had that or you could go to a vet.

  4. That sounds like septicemia. The bump sounds like head swelling, ryukins get it a lot (what kind of fish is he?). It could be infected from hole-in-the-head. It probably will not kill him if you caught it early. But yes, streaks through his body sound a lot like septicemia.

Also, if your fishe's tail is getting sucked into the filter, red lines will appear on it from strain.

    Medicines that will help treat:

    Maracide

    Maracyn Two

My fish has gone through this many times, don't worry!!
