My fish is acting strange?

Heyhey.

I have a small coldwater fish, and he's been acting very odd lately.

The other day I found him laying at the bottom of the tank, and I gathered that he was dead. When my dad got home I asked him to get the fish out of the tank, but when he walked in the fish was swimming around, almost normally, although it looked like it was struggling a bit.

This has happened a few times since then, and I don't know what on Earth is happening... what should I do/ what could it be?

  1. Hey that is so sad

Maybe he is hurt or worse sick is he feeding if he isn't you should seek vet advice asap also another suggestion is that he could be lonely but i would get a fish vet

I hope this helps and good luck

    cheers :)

  2. This has happened to my fish before. He may survive, he may not. Ask long as he's eating properly he'll be fine probably. Just don't flush him until you're absolutely positive he's dead. (or take it back to the store if they have it guaranteed)

  3. I suggest you should do a water change immediately as poor water quality is the most common cause of sick fish. Do you have test kits to test you water quality, if not take some water to your local fish shop and get them to test it. How big is your tank?, How many fish  are in it? Does the fish have any growths, spots etc on it? You will  need to provide more information. Do you have an airline in the tank? Do you regularly clean the tank and filter?

  4. He might be dying, I had a fish that did the same thing, it even swam backwards. So he might be dying.
