My five year old son in the last two weeks has decided that he will p**p and pee himself and then tell me that the cat peed on him. He has a speech delay and I know he has been having problems at school. I and my family have been working with him everyday on his speech and it is slowly getting better. He is on spring break right now so there is no stress in his life. He has come in the house twice this week and he has pooped and peed himself. I dont know what to do. Can anyone help me?????

  1. something is going on with him. if he has just started doing this, he has been through something. don't get angry at him or punish him for it. my 4 year old started peeing herself and getting really anxious. come to find out, she had something happen at a family function by her 5 yr old cousin. i immediiatly called protective services. talk to your son and ask questions, maybe over some cookies and milk. my heart goes out to him!

  2. i am going through this exact issue! my five year old has pooped himself three times this week! he seems to be waiting too long to tell us he has to go (he has speech delays also but this is not the problem). it is so frustrating and i don't have an answer to your question, but just thought i'd offer support because it is so frustrating!

i'm gonna watch your question for things to try myself!

  3. I doubt he's doing it on purpose to blame the cat. Maybe he is having some sort of problem, and can't control it, and is blaming it on the cat because you blame him, and make him feel very uncomfortable when he has an "accident"

  4. Make sure this is not acceptable behavior. He needs to know that  and you need to find out what is going on at school.

  5. What problems is he having at school? Maybe he needs to switch teachers, or find out if he is getting picked on. Also, you need to be strict. No going outside if he can't stop pooping/peeing his pants.

Cranstina C: Is the can also pooping in the child's pants? Kids will lie to get themselves out of trouble without realizing that telling the truth will be much better for them in the long run.

  6. Maybe the cat really did pee on him.

Why don't you start believing what your son tells you rather than blaming him for things the cat did.
