  1. Assuming you and your appliance are from the U.S., you need an adapter. You also need plenty of Euros. Paris ain't cheap.

    Bon Voyage!

  2. no. it will not work, even with an adapter.  I tried to use mine with an adapter and the voltage or wattage was too much i guess.  Anyway it broke because I tried to use it there.  Your best bet will be to get a cheap one from wal-mart or something to try with an adapter over there.

  3. Yes it will. You need to make sure that yours has a dual voltage and all you'll need is an adapter. But if it's only North American voltage 110V, then you'll also need a converter.

I got my set from Sears (converter and adapter for international use) and was only $40...best deal compared to other places.

    Enjoy your trip!

  4. It might be cheaper to just buy an inexpensive flat iron at BHV, near Hotel de Ville.  Chi flat irons are too expensive to risk killing because of a voltage problem.

  5. i would say to be safe, yes.  check with your hotel first to see if they have american outlets, but i would bring an adapter.  i'm leaving for a trip next week to israel and egypt and just purchased a nice kit with a voltage adapter for $40 from brookstone.  there are less expensive ones out there but make sure it has what you need.

  6. I brought my "HAI" hair flat iron with me, I used an adapter with it and I still blew it out.  The minute I plugged it in it blew immediately, and it was a new iron.   When I returned to the US I went back to the store I bought it and had to buy another one.  They told me it just wouldn't work overseas.  I would call the company first and inquire.  I had to pay $140 to buy a new one.  Wish I would have checked first before plugging it in.

  7. Tropicales is right. Outlets and voltage are different so you need an adapter for your plug + a small converter for your 110V appliance to be compatible with the 220V current used in Europe (otherwise it will blow and kill your flat iron!!!).

If your flat iron has a dual voltage system, set it to 220V and you'll only need the plug adapter but not the voltage converter.

You will find adapters (and probably converters too) at the airport stores but it is probably cheaper to get them here before you go: http://www.conair.com/travel-accessories...
