Question:

My flute won't play several notes, even after I replaced a pad

One of my pads was ripped and wasn't playing a D or e flat. I replaced the pad, and it still won't play either of those notes. When I take my left thumb off its key, a sound will play, but when I press the key again all I hear is rushing air. Any suggestions?

  1. You definitely need to go to a repair shop and get your flute checked out.  I've had similar problems in the past with my flute and the problem was more than I thought.  The specialists will be able to figure out the problem and may be able to get your flute in better shape and playing better than before you had the problem.

    Good luck:)

  2. I would take it to a music shop to get it repaired....if its not the pad thats causing the problem since you already replaced it, you might have a slight dent or your flute might be bent a bit...

    good luck

  3. go to long and mcquade. they usually fix everything when you give it to them. :)
