  1. I bought a warm mist humidifier and it practicallycured my daughter over night. Honestly, the best 30 quid ever spent. All you do is fill with water and plug in....it then sends warm mist into the air which helps the cough by relaxing the throat and lungs. Fantastic inventions.

  2. eucalyptus oil is amazing.  a few drops on her pillow at night and a few drops on her top at night, and during the day.  You'll be amazed at the results!  Usually available from pharmacies.

It's cheap and also great for removing crayon from carpet, ink from shirts, etc, etc.

  3. A dehumidifier will help. I have a 21 month old daughter with pretty much the same symptom. I bought mines about a year ago from CVS. It's called Vicks Dehumidifier and costs about $30. It really helped my daughter, hopefully it will help your child too!!

  4. Try this, given to me by a friend. Rub the soles of your daughter with Vick Vapourub and cover them with socks.

    Strange but it works.

  5. Steam might help - obviously not too close though!

  6. First make sure she doesnt have pneumonia. Does she have a fever with it? Get the ok from a Dr. on the proper way to treat her since she is so young.

  7. this is an old fashioned one that my gran told me....roll a bit butter in sugar and give it to your child, apparently it coats the tubes. Its worth a try!

  8. Ask a pharmacist they could recommend what would be best for your child.

  9. Best I know is Buttercup   No    chemicals  its all natural  stuff.

  10. Don't know if you can still get Calcold of Calcough from chemists cos they stopped selling it at one point but that always works well on my young ones cos it helps them sleep. Also I put Olbas Oil on the corners of their pillow as this opens the airway making it easier for them to breathe. If you can get your daughter to suck on an ice lolly before she goes to bed this can help numb her throat so it's not uncomfortable for her. Hope that helps.

  11. A teaspoon of honey.

  12. My son is four and about a year ago someone told me about Vicks (or any other brand mentholated rub) on the feet.  He would go bananas when I'd put it on his chest for bed, telling me he couldn't breathe and crying.  But within 15 minutes of putting it on his feet and putting his socks on him he'd be sound asleep NO COUGHING!!  I've also used a little Vicks on my temples for a nasty headache and on my feet when I have congestion.  If you've ever seen those commercials for those foot pads that help "pull toxins from your body" then I think  this works in reverse... Your feet will absorb the stuff.  Any doctor should tell you that coughing is healthy though.  When your child stops coughing then mucus can build up in the lungs and cause pneumonia.  So while you should let your child cough during the day they'll also need some sleep at night.  Keep that in mind while treating!  Good luck!

  13. This is not really something you should be trying to treat yourself.  You really need to take your daughter to see her pediatrician.  It's probably not serious however there are some serious ailments that could cause this symptom.

  14. A very old but good remedy is this one:

Rub the chest of your daughter with warmed-up lard and cover the chest with a wollen blanket.

    Be sure it will work!

  15. ok if its a flemy chough try puting vasaline in hot water and get her to breath in it does sting the eyes but just close em and it will bring up flem and clear way for night

if not then try a cough medice
