On September 2. My four old son be getting his tonsils taken out. I need to know want I am expecting after he has surgery. I know he could be in pain for little while but for how long. I know he only be eating ice cream and popsicles after surgery for how many days. My mom said he can't have the reds one because of red dye in them. I would be giving those to my oldest son because he wants some too. I would be keeping him out for the week from his preschool. They start September 2. He goes four days a week, I know drink plenty of fluids has well but why kind. So when should I start to worry that I would need to take him to the doctor. When he bleeds a lot if does happen,

Thanks.

His tonsils are huge and they not going down are causing him problems this reason why he having this surgery. They took his adenoids out in February of this year.

  2. tonsillectomy is a simple procedure with minimal discomfort ,

  3. I think you should take these questions up with your doctor or whoever is taking care of your child through this, you will get a more direct answer from there :)

  4. I had this done. ICE CREAM IS A NO-NO. The dairy in the ice cream will actually make it harder to swallow because it will retain more mucus. Stick to low-sugar Popsicles.

And Pedialyte is a GREAT thing to use to keep him hydrated. It replenishes very quickly and gently. Try soft foods to start out with, and nothing to spicy or tangy. Keep it simple and plain to start. And he'll probably know what would feel good to eat too.
