My freshman year of High school grades not so good, will this have a major effect on college acceptance?

This year I am a sophmore in high school, and am aggrivated with myself because freshman year I completely slacked off. I usualy am a very good student, but freshman year i got what i would consider very bad grades compared to what i am capable of. If i put effort into my last three years will freshman grades really effect if i get into a good college? (im not talking ivy league, just good)

Colleges will focus more on your last 2 years of high school, not so much on your freshman year. So, from now on, just do your best and you should be fine! Good luck!!
