My fridge isn't cold enough. What should I do?

The fridge is at about 43-45F which is ok but not as cold as it should be. The really bad part is the freezer which is only about 36F which isn't nearly cold enough. I've looked online for troubleshooting tips but I'm not finding much of anything. Do I just need a new fridge or is there anything else I can do?

  1. turn the k**b inside to colder

    no dial - get repaired

  2. Cleaning the coils behind and under will help lots, but it may just need defrosting. If there is a heavy build up of ice in the freezer it will not cool as well. Try these 1st then if no improvement then call a service man.

  3. Pull it out from the wall and THOROUGHLY clean the back and bottom of fridge. Often just a good cleaning improves performance.  Works well with window AC units too, but they need to go to the carwash for some high speed water.  Allow both to dry VERY THOROUGHLY before plugging back in.

  4. Just to add one more thing . Check seal around the door. That would prevent temp. from going to desired set point.
