I didn't need a large refrigerator, I only used it mainly for drinks, so I bought a dorm room sized fridge which is just right for me. I gave my old fridge to my mother. After setting it up at her house she called to report that it wasn't cooling. I told her to move the temperature dial to 9, which she did before going to bed.

She just called and said that the temp in the bottom hale was 60 degrees. She set some water in the freezer to make ice (the water line is not yet hooked up) and said that some water from condensation was puddled on the freezer floor was frozen but the water in the container had not even begun to freeze. The fridge was working perfectly, well not exactly, the ice maker would make ice like crazy. Sometimes I would go to get ice and when I opened the door the ice was overflowing. Other than that the temperature was fine.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be the problem?

  1. Did you lay it down when you moved it?  If so, un plug it and wait about 12 hours before plugging it back in.

  2. If you did transport it laying down unplug it and let all the oil drain back into the compressor for 6-8 hours.  I hope that's not the case as it might have destroyed the compressor.  For some troubleshooting help, go to

  3. MAYBE YOU TRASPOSTED IT LAYING FLAT LEAVE IT STANDING UP FOR A DAY OR 2 SO THE GAS GOES BACK TO THE COMPRESSOR. THEN TRY AGAIN

    HOPE IT WORKS
