Her mother had gone in to get something, and a 13 year old next door neighbor scooped her up and took her away.
My friend did not find out until her daughter told her later that night. They confronted the neighbor and he confessed to everything.
They now have both children seeing therapists.
I am not trying to "be the parent," but I believe that there are certain unforgivable mistakes one makes in life. If it had been my child, I would have pressed charges to the fullest extent. Granted the attacker was thirteen, but I feel no sympathy for his illness or choice of actions.
Has anyone else had similar experiences? Opinions?
