Question:

My friend's 3 year old daughter was sexually assaulted?

Her mother had gone in to get something, and a 13 year old next door neighbor scooped her up and took her away.

My friend did not find out until her daughter told her later that night. They confronted the neighbor and he confessed to everything.

They now have both children seeing therapists.

I am not trying to "be the parent," but I believe that there are certain unforgivable mistakes one makes in life. If it had been my child, I would have pressed charges to the fullest extent. Granted the attacker was thirteen, but I feel no sympathy for his illness or choice of actions.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? Opinions?

  1. I'm with you.

If someone had done that to my daughter, I would be pushing for him to be in jail for the rest of his life.

13 is old enough to tell that what he did was wrong.

  2. 13 or not, this was WRONG.  I don't know how much the police could do to a child that age, but at the very least they need to get something on their record.  Sorry if I sound harsh, I feel no sympathy either.

  3. Yesterday Dr. Phil said that an unstopped pedophile will molest between 100 and 400 victims over the course of a lifetime. This isn't JUST about the 3 year old, though it certainly is now. How can this parent think that her child is safe? Has she moved? The boy didn't just molest, either, he KIDNAPPED the baby first. This sounds like a huge error in judgement on the part of the parent, with misplaced sympathy for the perpetrator. Misplaced sympathy for the RAPIST, because that's what the 13 year old really is. I believe that the police would be forced to pursue charges if you filed a complaint with Child Protective Services. This little girl's parents don't get to forgive a felony perpetrated against their child.

  4. he maybe is desperate very desperate he cannot wait for his future you should tell that to mother of the little girl

  5. Oh no,they should definitely press charges! She was a baby! He will never be "cured" from his sick illness,a large percentage of s*x offenders who are released from jail return to do the same thing. I think its pretty dumb how they're handling  this situation with a slap on the wrist! He definitely needs to be locked away somewhere to protect other little girls and women.

  6. If someone ever hurts my Daughter they will cops on themselves to get away from me. If they can use their arms and or fingers to dial a phone that is.

  7. This sounds like Freud's 19th Century.  I'm with you, not everything Is resolved through Therapy.  At 13 He KNEW BETTER! That is what is wrong with society today; a slap on the wrists and all is forgiven.  No Way!
